We are looking for a Data Solutions Architect to join the Data and Analytics team at Capitec the largest retail bank in South Africa. Role Purpose

• To define the technology solution for the Data and Analytics (D&A) environment and ensure that it is designed to meet current and anticipated future technological requirements.
• To assist with and oversee the creation of comprehensive technical specifications from business requirements by maintaining a high level of in-depth knowledge with regards to D&A and other relevant Back-End Systems and data sources.

Experience

Minimum:

• 4+ years' experience as a Solution Architect with a strong Data and technical background
• System design and architecture
• Strong analysis, design and implementation
• Data warehouse / BI solution performance analysis, tuning and administration
• Experience with cloud platforms for data solutions (AWS preferred)
• Experience with data platforms, data lakes and data warehousing
• Knowledge shares; guides and mentors junior Data Architects.

Data Architect Level II

• Grade 12
• A relevant 3 year tertiary qualification (degree / diploma) and at least 4 years’ proven experience within management information systems / systems analysis, implementation and design including creating new data patterns.

OR

• At least 2 - 4 years’ proven experience within management information systems / system analysis plus industry certification e.g. DAMA, AWS, / DMBOK2. AND Industry certification such as DAMA, AWS, DMBOK2.
• Contributes to the function and organisation through technical expertise, knowledge and skills on a Value Stream and D&A level; optimises concepts and patterns.

• At this level the role helps interpret and execute functional business plans and influence delivery plans.
• Contribute to the exploration and sourcing of new technology and tools and techniques to improve and optimise performance and delivery.
• Required to remain cognisant of non-functional requirements data accuracy, stability, accessibility and security at all times.
• Shares knowledge and experience of Data Architecture, Data development process, Data integration design and Data modelling, new technologies, patterns, tools and techniques, defining those most appropriate for the environment, task or project.
• Develops and drives standardisation across D&A through adoption of the data patterns.
