The Senior SQL Database Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining the eviCore healthcare database environments, including providing high security of protected health information, monitoring and investigating issues with production applications, evaluating and identifying operational issues within the databases. The Senior SQL DBA will be responsible for working on tickets and monitoring of the database environment and completing user requests for access, change requests, scripts and responding to performance issues. The Senior SQL DBA will review database level code and ensure adherence to DBA standards and best practices. The Senior SQL DBA will be responsible for participating in the 24x7shift schedule. The Senior SQL DBA will be responsible for mentoring junior DBAs and taking a lead role in major projects and working on major issues and working with management to set standards for the team. Other duties will be determined as necessary.
15+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 – 2017
5+ years of experience with Azure Database Platforms: SQL Managed Instance, SQL VM, SQL DB
Elastic pools for scale and performance on Azure
Capacity Planning/Storage
Extensive understanding of DBA concepts and Best Practices
TSQL (scripting, stored procedures, triggers, query development)
PowerShell scripting
Clustering/Always On technology, Log Shipping, Replication, HA
Database and SQL Performance Analysis (Index Management and Query Plan Assessment)
SQL installation and configuration
Troubleshooting and RCA experience, Incident Management
Able to recommend, set and apply Standards and Best Practices
ITIL: Change Management Process and Procedures
SQL monitoring tools (Idera, SolarWinds, Spotlight, SCOM, Zabbix, SQL Sentry, Foglight, Azure SQL Analytics)
Experience with ETL, SSIS, SSRS, OLTP
Security and User Management, including Azure AD Integration and Identities
Backup/Recovery and Disaster Recovery Procedures
Standardized Database Maintenance
Requests including (Installs, Performance Analysis, Security Management, SQL Job Management, Index Maintenance, Troubleshooting) – SNOW/Cherwell
Documentation Development
Excellent Interpersonal and Communications Skills
24x7 shift schedule for support of the operational database environment
Multiple location support
Capable of working independently and in a team
