As we continue to expand our offerings, we are seeking a Database Administrator in the Panama. *This is a Panama Remote role
The SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) at Quest is responsible for the security, maintenance, performance, and optimization of database systems across on-premises, Azure SQL, and MySQL environments. This role ensures high availability, data integrity, and performance of all database systems while supporting Quest’s data needs through proactive management and collaboration.
Responsibilities
Database Setup, Maintenance & Management
-Deploy and manage SQL Server environments, including standalone instances, clustered setups, and Always On availability groups.
-Install, configure, and maintain MySQL databases, including Linux-based environments (e.g., Drupal projects).
-Monitor database health and performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
-Execute regular database backups and manage disaster recovery plans.
-Implement, test, and document backup and recovery strategies.
-Configure and manage linked servers to SQL Server, Azure SQL, Oracle, and Salesforce (SFDC).
-Implement DBAmp for data integration from Salesforce.
Data Security & Integrity
-Enforce and maintain database security policies, including user roles and access control.
-Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
Performance Optimization
-Conduct performance tuning using techniques such as query optimization, indexing, and resource management.
Upgrades & Migrations
-Plan and execute seamless database upgrades and migrations with minimal downtime, especially in clustered and production environments.
-Apply patches and updates to keep systems secure and current.
Collaboration & Technical Support
-Work closely with development teams to design scalable and efficient database schemas.
-Provide database support and expertise for development, QA, and production environments.
Automation & Scripting
-Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, T-SQL, and other scripting tools.
-Automate routine tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technolog,y or equivalent Industry experience required
-4-6 years as a professional Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
-Fluency in English (spoken and written) is mandatory
