What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze, maintain, and optimize PostgreSQL database environment to ensure 99.9% availability and data integrity
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and enhance data retrieval efficiency for PostgreSQL
- Update database architecture, build schemas, tables, stored procedures, and manage permissions
- Monitor systems for availability, overseeing database mirroring, replication, and failover
- Collaborate with developers, analysts, and IT teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot PostgreSQL database issues

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration and performance tuning
- Extensive hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages for infrastructure and database management
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across teams and departments

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or federal agencies
- Relevant certifications such as MongoDB, AWS, or Azure certification
- Experience in SAFe/Agile Software Development
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-stakeholder and DevSecOps environment
- Ability to obtain government clearance
