      Job Description

      Database Developer/AdministratorLocation: 100% onsite in Bethesda, MDClearance: US Citizenship eligible for a Public Trust

      NetImpact Strategies, Inc. is seeking a Database Developer/Administrator to support a Federal Agency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Oracle and MySQL database administration, performance tuning, cloud migration, and automation in Linux environments.

      Key Responsibilities

      • Develop, administer, and maintain Oracle and MySQL databases across Linux and Windows platforms.
      • Perform installations, patching, upgrades, backups, and migrations, including Oracle 12c+ and MySQL 5.6+.
      • Architect and manage AWS RDS PostgreSQL solutions and facilitate cloud migrations using AWS DMS.
      • Optimize database performance through query tuning, index management, and system monitoring.
      • Manage database security, user roles, and access control to ensure data protection.
      • Automate database administration tasks using Linux shell scripting.
      • Provide 24x7 support for production databases, including troubleshooting and incident response.

      Qualifications

      Required Skills and Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.

      • Minimum 5 years of database development experience.

      • Extensive hands-on experience (15+ years) with Oracle RAC installation, configuration, and administration.

      • Strong proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL for application development and code reviews.

      • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively at all levels.

      Preferred

      • Previous federal IT consulting experience (preferred)
