- Design, develop, and maintain relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Optimize queries and database performance for scalability and efficiency.
- Implement data security measures, backup strategies, and recovery plans.
- Collaborate with application developers and analysts to define data requirements.
- Monitor database systems and resolve performance and reliability issues.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including data models and schemas.
- Support data migration, ETL processes, and integration efforts.
- Perform regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with security policies.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in database engineering or administration.
- Security+ CE preferred.
- Oracle or SQL certification preferred.
- Proficiency with database platforms such as SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with performance tuning and indexing.
- Knowledge of data security, backup, and disaster recovery techniques.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL).
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and automation tools.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, Oracle Certified Professional, or AWS Database Specialty.

Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for Database Engineer: Pay commensurate with experience.
