      Overview

      The daycare teacher is responsible for each student's care and needs in their charge; spiritually, emotionally, physically, and educationally. The teacher is also responsible for creating an environment that is safe, organized, and effective for learning and growth. The daycare teacher must maintain and develop systems and procedures to ensure student safety and education, both inside and outside the classroom. Will be responsible for ensuring that the classroom, educational activities, and student/teacher interactions meet all Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Minimum Standards guidelines.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      • Must supervise children at all times
      • Develop students emotionally, spiritually, physically and socially
      • Must be able to focus on each student's individual needs while maintaining an overall atmosphere of learning and growth for the entire class.
      • Teach children social skills by modeling and nurturing good judgment and self-control
      • Teach age-appropriate academic curriculum and encourage learning through play and interaction
      • Provide personal space for each child
      • Ensure that classroom appearance and environment reflects a standard of excellence
      • Plan, post, and follow monthly classroom activities according to teaching curriculum identified and outlined by the CLC director
      • Provide classroom structure and post a daily schedule

      JOB REQUIREMENTS:

      Education & Experience:

      • High School graduate or equivalent
      • Child Development Associate Credential preferred
      • Participate in at least 48 hours of training annually in understanding children and job performance
      • Maintain current CPR and First Aid certification
      • One year daycare experience preferred

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Must demonstrate and maintain a working knowledge of theState Minimum Standards as outlined by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
      • Must demonstrate a clear passion for and calling to early childhood education
      • Must demonstrate creative ability to educate students both in and out of the classroom
      • Must be able to maintain professional relationships with leadership, team members, and parents
      • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the mission, vision, and purpose of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Eagle Mountain International Church

      TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

      • Must be 18 years or older
      • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
      • Able to pull, push, stand, sit, stoop, bend, reach, move, carry children and equipment
      • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
      • Maintain a good attendance record

      TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS:

      • Able to give and receive information, prepare written materials, and articulate goals and action plans
      • Understand vague and implicit instructions
      • Be detailed, organized, and communicative
      • Purpose and goal-oriented

      • Demonstrate the ability to submit to authority and carry out duties as assigned by leadership

      WORKING CONDITIONS:

      • Typical nursery and classroom environment
      • The daily transition from indoors to outdoors in varying weather conditions year-round

      SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Children

      EQUIPMENT TO BE USED:

      Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a standard nursery, school and office equipment, e.g. infant swing, bottle warmer, laminator, labeler, computer, print/copy/fax/scanner, calculator, telephone, video gaming system, etc.

      OTHER:

      • Born again believer and must adhere to the doctrines of this organization as upheld by Kenneth and Gloria Copeland and their appointed representatives
      • Must work well with others, as a team and according to Romans 16:17, must not cause dissension, difficulties and divisions
      • Must maintain a good attendance record
      • Membership and attendance at EMIC are preferred
      • Because of the wide range of personal contact with ministry leaders within and outside the organization, this position requires considerable diplomacy, maturity, and excellent communication skills
      • Ability to work with people of all cultures
