- Job Description: • 5 years of experience in administering PostgreSQL, Oracle,MySQL database, replication, tuning, backup and recovery • Experience with AWS Aurora Postgres is desired • Experience handling multiterabyte databases and high transaction volumes • Experience handling large table partitioning and subpartitioning • Experience with Large Scale database migrations (Onprem to Cloud, Onprem to Onprem) • Experience helping development team with PostGIS functions and performance tuning of GIS queries • Must be highly proficient in performance tuning, replication , and proactive monitoring • Strong expertise in building, maintaining, supporting, troubleshooting, tuning, and monitoring production PostgreSQL database servers • JOB DUTIES Install, configure, and maintain Postgres databases with replication Install, configure, and maintain MYSQL databases with replication • Optimize and tune PostgreSQL databases for optimal performance • Continually improve monitoring, perform database capacity and usage planning • Write and maintain scripts to automate routine DB tasks Troubleshoot databaserelated application performance issues • Ensure security and data integrity of all PostgreSQL instances • Perform routine, periodic and proactive DB maintenance • Provide off hours support to avoid impact to database availability during normal business hours Implement tools to automate database operation and monitoring • Write python, shell scripting for Data Load, check fallout and report Test restore(master), recovery(pointintime), replication • Test cluster failover and disaster recovery Implement, document and maintain database roles and security • Research and evaluate alternatives and recommend solutions for business issues • Create capacity planning reports based on historical data trends and projected data growth • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologiesWhile we have the DBA JD pls add to the JD for DBE skills . 1. Well versed (hands on) with Oracle and PostgreSQL 2. Good knowledge and hands on experience in SQL. 3. Good knowledge and hands on experience in Functions, Procedures, Triggers, views and materialized views. 4. Good understanding of Jsonb related functions in PostgreSQL. 5. Experience in talend jobs for migrating data from Oracle to PostgreSQL. 6. Good to have knowledge in Unix/ Linux.
