Data Center Engineering Operation (DCEO) is seeking for individuals who are motivated, self-starter, eager to learn, passionate and committed to join us. You will spend 06 months on the trainee program and by the end of it, your progression will be evaluated to see if you have what it takes to join our successful team and be a full time Amazonian.
Amazon is expanding the Data Center management team in India. This position serves as the primary operational resource to support ADSIPL within its owned and operated Data Centers in India. This position will provide a central point of ownership and accountability for the overall ‘hands-on’ management of the Mechanical, Electrical (M&E) and across ADSIPL’s portfolio of Data Centers in India. This position will be responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of the critical infrastructure supporting IT operations within the Indian Data Center space. It will also include event management, incident management, problem management, change management, and cost/contract management. In addition, this will include the relationship management with the landlords, critical facility vendors, Data Center Construction team, Data Center Operations team, Technical Program Managers, Security team, and Logistics team in India.
The position will require 24x7 on-call, scheduled weekend work support and rotational shift. The location for this job to be discussed, as there may be opportunities in several India locations.
Following are the primary responsibilities (but not limited to) of Data Center Engineering Operations (DCEO) Engineer:
- Organize and manage on-site vendors to carry maintenance of electrical, mechanical, BMS/EPMS, fire control, buildings and outdoor facilities, to eliminate faults, ensure the normal function of the facilities/room/office etc.
- Manage daily facility round and walk-through to identify the facility related issues and rectification of the issues on time.
- Provide facility-related services to internal customers such as IT operations, including rack install, rack power-up, etc.
· Providing hands on facility support where required (e.g. installation of new equipment, decommissioning of equipment, replacement of faulty equipment, internal audit etc.)
· Manage and coordinate with vendors to resolve any incidents during emergency situations. This may require to physically be dispatched on to site to investigate and resolve the issue.
· Managing information flow during incidents while providing regular updates to management.
- Manage DCEO and vendor activities through tools such to ensure that activities are under the control of procedure, reduce the impact on the business, and record/store/share information.
- Generate change management requests & incident management tickets for DCEO activities.
· Reviewing incident reports, documenting periodic trend summaries, and providing updates and recommended actions to management.
· Responsible for Asset inventory and critical spare management.
- File management for infrastructure, online and offline storage of drawings, materials, standards and other important materials to facilitate the DCEO work.
- Review the compliance of vendors/ contractors to ensure that all SLAs are achieved.
- Ensure the safe work compliances during the vendor/contractor activities on site.
- Evaluate vendor’s/contractor’s daily operation and emergency response capabilities, the vendor/contractors work include: MV/LV switch gears, diesel generators, UPS systems, power distribution system, chillers, air-conditioning units, BMS/EPMS etc.
- Manage on-site vendors to ensure that they work in accordance with established regulations, processes and practices;
- Organize regular training and drill to improve the ability and ensure that infrastructure issues can be effectively addressed.
