      Position Type: Full-Time, 12-month

      Position Summary:

      The Dean of Instruction & School Leadership is a key administrative leader responsible for advancing instructional effectiveness, ensuring compliance with federal and state education regulations, and overseeing school operations at Casa Gracia NC. This role integrates strategic planning, staff development, curriculum supervision, and accreditation oversight to foster continuous school improvement. The n of Instruction & School Leadership manages all aspects of campus operations, including budgeting, scheduling, staff hiring and evaluation, and instructional program oversight, including STAAR testing. This position serves as a liaison between academic staff, district leadership, and external stakeholders—ensuring alignment with Cognia and ORR standards—while maintaining a collaborative relationship with the CEO of the partnering residential or psychiatric facility. The role emphasizes data-driven decision-making, staff performance management, and the consistent implementation of best practices in teaching and learning.

      Key Responsibilities:

      1. Instructional Software Administration

      · Serve as the CGNC administrator for all instructional software systems.

      · Create, manage, and maintain user accounts and access permissions.

      · Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues in collaboration with IT and instructional staff.

      · Monitor software usage and generate performance and engagement reports.

      · Coordinate ongoing professional development related to instructional software tools.

      · Develop and distribute annual staff software analysis surveys to inform renewal decisions.

      · Attend product demonstrations and evaluate the effectiveness of new software tools.

      · Ensure programs are implemented with fidelity and that usage data informs instructional planning.

      · Maintain a software inventory and renewal calendar, assisting with procurement processes.

      • Ensure all software provides meaningful, actionable data that supports student academic progress.

        2. Cognia Accreditation & Compliance

        · Assist in overseeing the district’s compliance with Cognia standards and expectations.

        · Assist in the submission of program changes and updates to Cognia in accordance with their guidelines.

        · Maintain a comprehensive archive of evidence supporting progress toward accreditation goals.

        · Assist in facilitating the administration of Cognia’s diagnostics and stakeholder feedback tools.

        · In collaboration with Director of Private Education, prepare for and coordinate logistics for Cognia’s external review visits and evaluations.

        · Ensure district policies and practices remain aligned with Cognia Performance Standards.

        · Assist in coordinating staff communication and training regarding Cognia processes and goals.

        · Lead reflective analysis of accreditation data and improvement findings.

        3. Lesson Plan Management

        · Develop and update district-approved lesson plan templates.

        · Manage the system for lesson plan collection, organization, and storage.

        · Review lesson plans for completeness and quality in collaboration with the principal.

        · Ensure alignment of plans to TEKS curriculum standards and student needs.

        · Provide guidance and feedback to staff on improving instructional design.

        · Track submission trends and identify recurring instructional planning needs.

        · Submit lesson plans to the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) as required.

        4. Professional Development & Conference Planning

        · Design and manage the district’s annual professional development (PD) calendar.

        · Plan high-quality content for all staff development and annual conference days.

        · Coordinate guest speakers, facilitators, and logistical arrangements for PD events.

        · Conduct needs assessments and use survey results to drive PD topic selection.

        · Evaluate the effectiveness of PD sessions through post-session feedback and follow-up observations.

        · Maintain detailed records of attendance, session materials, and evaluation results.

        · Align PD offerings with Cognia goals, district improvement plan targets, and staff input.

        5. District Improvement Plan (DIP) Oversight

        · Lead the development and annual update of the District Improvement Plan (DIP).

        · Ensure the DIP is aligned with Cognia accreditation standards, ORR compliance, and internal assessments.

        · Coordinate data collection and stakeholder input to inform DIP goals.

        · Monitor progress toward improvement benchmarks and report findings to leadership.

        · Communicate the DIP clearly to staff and support its integration into day-to-day practices.

        · Use DIP findings to guide PD offerings and school improvement initiatives.

        Qualifications:

        · Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (Master’s preferred)

        · Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in instructional leadership, software implementation, or accreditation processes

        Familiarity with Cognia accreditation, ORR reporting, and standards-based instruction

        · Skills: Strong knowledge of instructional software platforms and learning technologies

        Demonstrated skills in planning, facilitation, data analysis, and communication

        Ability to build trust and work collaboratively with instructional and administrative staff

        Work Environment:

        • Based remotely and in an office or classroom environment, with frequent visits to classrooms and other school sites
