Job Description

- Assist truck driver and follows directives of supervisors while in the field.
- Assist with pick up and delivery of various supplies, textbooks, furniture, and equipment within and outside the District.
- Helps secure all loads and equipment to ensure that all deliveries are maintained in safe and good condition.
- Responsible for learning location of district facilities, schools, and Bulk Transportation procedures.
- Must be able to cross-train into other Service Center operations.
- Maintains an inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicle as assigned daily, inform supervisor of any known problems with tools, equipment, and vehicle immediately and provide documentation during inspection and/or inventory of tools, equipment, and vehicle as required.
- Communicates effectively with Principals, Department Heads, District staff, and all other Auxiliary Services personnel, contractors, and vendors in a professional manner in all phases necessary to complete each job and project.
- Maintains an acceptable grooming standard and dress code as required by the Dallas ISD and Auxiliary Services department.
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned.
- Accredited High School Diploma or equivalent (U.S.A equivalency) required.
- Minimum one (1) year warehouse experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.
- Demonstrated accountability in maintaining tools, equipment, and supplies assigned.
- Demonstrated initiative for successful job planning through job completion.
- Demonstrated effective communication skills with supervisor and co-workers.
- Demonstrated ability to read and write.
- Must be able to wear safety clothing, shoes and equipment as required to meet Federal, State and local and Dallas ISD safety and code requirements.
- Must maintain Texas Driver’s License and record that meets Dallas ISD standard.
- Must be able to pass the Dallas ISD Random Drug Test.
