      Job Description:

      Duties/Responsibilities

      • Assist with the delivery of dental care to Scottish Rite for Children patients from infancy to age 18 according to standards

      • Assure implementation of dental care plans and facilitates patient flow in clinic

      • Interact and function well with disabled preschool, school-age, and adolescent children and their families adjusting the care to a developmentally appropriate level

      • Interact face-to-face with staff, patients/families, non-patients, and other health care professionals

      • Assist in documentation of patient/family assessments, treatment plans, stabilization techniques, and outcomes

      • Demonstrate knowledge of child development basic to the care of infants, toddlers, preschool, school-age children, and adolescents utilizing this information in supporting dental treatment interventions

      • Assist with scheduling patients and answering phones as needed

      • Demonstrates ability to work in a fast-paced/hospital/OR setting

      Required Skills/Abilities

      • Bilingual/Spanish preferred

      • High school diploma or equivalent required

      • Basic computer skills needed

      • Certificate in dental assisting (CDA) preferred

      • Minimum 2 years of experience as a dental assistant required (pediatric dental assistant/operating room (OR) experience preferred)

      • Previous experience with children, especially children with disabilities helpful

      • Basic knowledge of child development needed
