Provide direct clinical assistance and support to Dentists and Dental Hygienists.
Perform all aspects of 4-handed dentistry using effective and efficient techniques; mixes materials; places rubber dam; take study models impressions; take diagnostic x-rays..
Help triage emergency patients and make providers aware of clients' needs.
Provides patient with oral hygiene instructions and provides information on healthy food choices utilizing motivational interviewing tools
Set up and disinfect operators following the proper procedures ensuring all instruments and supplies are available for patient care.
Clean and sterilize instruments according to established infection control guidelines.
Interact with patients respectfully and courteously.
Proactively monitor client wait times and ensure patients are informed of any schedule delays.
Conducts phone follow-ups and documentation.
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Completion of Dental Assistant program
Certification of radiologic proficiency is preferred , and you have the ability to obtain it within six months of hire by already completing a Oregon Board approved course , issued by the Oregon State Board of Dental Examiners.
BLS CPR Certification or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of hire.
One(1) year of responsible dental assistant experience or a graduate from an accredited dental assistant program .
Infection Control Certification from DANB

This recruitment will fill Dental Assistant positions (EFDA is not required) in our health centers . This recruitment will fill multiple positions at dental clinics throughout the Portland Metro area. *This is a Limited Duration position*
The Dental Program works with many community partners, targeting underserved populations in Multnomah County to ensure access to dental services, including providing education, prevention, and dental treatment. The Dental Assistant is responsible for a variety of duties to assist Dentists and Dental Hygienists in the delivery of dental care to patients. The position could require working in different locations and teams per Dental Clinic Program Supervisor direction.
