      $2,500 Sign-On Bonus

      Position Highlights:

      Nebraska Medicine is now taking applications for a talented individual to join us as a Dental Assistant. This role will be working in the in the University Health Center on the UNL campus in Lincoln, NE.

      Required Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 18 years of age required.
      • High school education or equivalent required.
      Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant Program or minimum of one year experience chair side and the ability to obtain Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) within 14 months of transfer or hire date required.

      • Completion of radiography course/credits required.
      • Effective verbal and written skills required.
      • Ability to accomplish multiple tasks and prioritize activities required.
      Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

      Preferred Qualifications:


      • Graduate of an accredited Dental Assistant Program preferred.
      • Experience in dental related office preferred.
      • Dental assistant certification is preferred.
      • Prior experience with customer service skills preferred.

      1.1 Perform radiographs as needed to support efficient clinic operations, as required by position.

      1.2 Order supplies and monitor supply inventories.

      1.3 Communicate effectively with patient and members of the health care team within the practice and other agencies to ensure customer, staff and external inquiries are handled appropriately and efficiently.

      1.4 Depending on position, may provide clerical support including maintenance of clinic records and files to ensure smooth workflow in the clinic and that patient information is available to caregivers.

      1.5 Depending on position, may triage patient appointments.

      Provide patient care, which may include chair-side dental/surgical tasks, autoclaving, room and instrument set-up and stocking.

      2.2 Effectively communicate with all customers/staff.

      2.3 Provide patient education as directed by using training programs and materials available and presenting these to patients to ensure their ability to comply with their dental/surgical treatment plan.

      2.4 Escort patient to exam room, collect, observe, report, and document appropriate data related to patient care per established guidelines.
