      Job summary

      An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Designed to Smile (D2S) Community Dental Service team, for a Dental Health Coordinator. D2S has a targeted provision of programmes offering supervised tooth brushing to nurseries and schools sited in Swansea for children from age 2 years to and including school year 2. And also Fluoride varnish application programmes for the same children aged 3 year up to and including school year 2. The D2S programme is also offered to all children who attend nurseries and school which cater for children with additional learning needs. The programmes are carried out and supervised by nursery/School staff, trained and supported by Dental Health Educators from the D2S team.

      Main duties of the job

      To support and assist in the implementation and monitoring of the Welsh Government funded Designed to Smile Programme.

      Providing oral health education/promotion to recognised target groups in the community and to others in the wider community of health and education.

      The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
