      Job Title: Dental Hygienist
      Location: St. Louis, MO
      Department: Dental Services
      Employment Type: Full Time

      Job Summary:

      The Dental Hygienist provides professional dental care in the field of dental hygiene including all related clinical procedures. Has broad responsibilities for clinical and community dental health education activities.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Oral prophylaxis; oral hygiene instructions including proper tooth brushing, flossing, nutrition, as well as the need for professional care.

      • Application of topical fluorides; placement of sealants; screen and evaluate patients regarding caries detection, periodontal pathology, oral cancer, and medical history.

      • Expose radiographs; supra and sub gingival scaling and root planning.

      • Procedures involving team periodontal surgical techniques; gross debridement in the treatment of acute periodontal conditions.

      • Performing expanded duties where qualified; administration of local anesthetics.

      • Carry out oral health assessment and record the medical history of the patient.

      • Able to give preventive and therapeutic treatment.

      • Accurately documents information in patient records.

      • Attends to the needs of patients with the utmost patience, care, compassion and understanding.

      • Primarily responsible for the initiation and maintenance of the dental prevention and dental education program.

      • Assists in the training of dental assistants.

      • Performs other duties as assigned by Clinical Staff.

      Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

      • Graduate of an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.

      • Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist in the State of practice

      • Maintain current CPR certification.

      • Previous experience desired, but not required.

      • Applicant must be willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed in.

      • Applicant must be willing and comfortable with providing telehealth services to the individuals we serve.
