      Job Description

      The Toyota Production System (TPS) Department Manager is responsible for promoting the implementation of the TPS. TPS is “to strengthen the corporate structure through visualization of problems and their thorough improvement,” and this corporate structure refers to IAF. Through planning and formulating, will implement cost reduction improvements based on Toyota Production System.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Understand the company’s needs and set a direction of activities as it relates to the implementation of TPS.
      • Work with Key Management Stakeholders to gain alignment and establish priorities.
      • Organize problems with through-process approach with the ability to use material and information flow charts.
      • Promote continuous improvement through the development of TPS personnel.
      • Evaluate the production floor using the TPS approach.
      • Coordinate activities across processes and drive them forward utilizing strong leadership skills.
      • Use of communication skills to encourage members to gain a sense of responsibility and to get through difficult times without giving up.
      • Ability to provide training on TPS.
      • Ability to summarize activities using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
      • Create and implement career plans for team members.
      • Develop, coordinate and implement improvement programs for assigned manufacturing process(es)
      • Other duties may be assigned.

      Job Qualifications


      QUALIFICATIONS

      • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM, Business, or related field preferred.
      • Experience with Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma
      • Understanding and knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
      • Manufacturing management experience of 7+ years.
      • Experience in analyzing and managing KPIs.
      • Mastered the basic TPS tools, understanding them well with the ability to apply them.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS

      Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Fluent in English. Japanese as a second language is helpful.

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

      Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical concepts and formulas in all units of measure is required.

      REASONING ABILITY

      Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
