      Job Summary:

      The Deputy Athletics Director for External Affairs will provide leadership, oversight and management of all externally focused units in the department of athletics, including marketing, communications / media relations, ticket operations, and media rights / sponsorships. Will be responsible for all business development and external activities affecting TCU athletics, organizing all related units under one oversight umbrella. The Deputy will serve as sport administrator for sports as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

      Duties & Essential Job Functions:

      1. Provides supervision, leadership and oversight of Associate Athletic Directors for Marketing, Ticket Operations, Athletics Communication.
      2. Collaborate strategically with athletics development in conjuction with University Advancement.
      3. Assist with and collaborate in the management of Name, Image and Likeness programs, collectives, etc. as allowed by NCAA legislation and state / federal laws and university policies and procedures.
      4. Oversees the daily external operations of the Intercollegiate Athletics department.
      5. Manages the oversight of sponsorship rights holder, currently Horned Frog Sports properties.
      6. Manages sport programs as assigned by identifying issues, providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations on solutions; recommending options and courses of action for budgetary, academic progress and personnel development and by scheduling of completion.
      7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

      Required Education & Experience:

      • Bachelor’s degree
      • 10 years in collegiate athletic administrator position.
      • Experience in leadership role of external facing units.

      Preferred Education & Experience:

      • Master’s degree

      • Experience in fundraising in intercollegiate sports, familiarity with major giving and annual fund programs and their functionality

      Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:

      • Valid Texas driver’s license.
      • Must be insurable under the University Motor Vehicle requirements.

      • None

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      • Knowledge of project management techniques.
      • Knowledge of customer service techniques.
      • Skill in some or all components of Microsoft Office.
      • Skill in the navigation of Microsoft Windows.
      • Skill in oral and written communications.
      • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and research capabilities and communicate results.
      • Ability to analyze financial data and apply budgeting techniques.
      • Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
      • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

      Physical Requirements (With or Without Accommodations):

      • Visual acuity to read information from computer screens, forms and other printed materials and information.
      • Able to speak (enunciate) clearly in conversation and general communication.
      • Hearing ability for verbal communication/conversation/responses via telephone, telephone systems, and face-to-face interactions.
      • Manual dexterity for typing, writing, standing and reaching, flexibility, body movement for bending, crouching, walking, kneeling and prolonged sitting.
      • This is an on-campus, in -person role.
      • Lifting and moving objects and equipment up to 10 lbs.

      Work Environment:

      • Work is indoors and sedentary and is subject to schedule changes and/or variable work hours.
      • This role is an on campus, in-person position, but requires some travel.
      • There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this job.
      • The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate.
