      A two day a week permanent Deputy Chief radiographer (Level 4.2) role is available at Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital - Australia’s first hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your management skills and work with a dedicated specialised team of Radiographers.

      Where You'll Be Working:
      Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital is located in the heart of Sydney's central business district and is next door to the Domain. It's well serviced by public transport including the new Metro, close to many fine cafes and food outlets.

      What You'll Be Doing:
      Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital (SSEH) is a tertiary referral hospital for specialist hand surgery and a quaternary referral unit for eye diseases. SSEH Radiology provides the following services: Emergency and general X-ray, Mobile X-Ray, Theatre Radiography, Computed Tomography (CT) and Ultrasound. Radiographers are responsible for provision of quality diagnostic radiography services for all patients of Sydney/Sydney Eye Hospital.

      As deputy chief you will be responsible for service improvement, business development rostering and quality assurance:
      • To coordinate the Radiographers and Sonographers involved in provision of the Medical Imaging service at SSEH & WMH in consultation with Chief Radiographer.
      • To perform medical imaging procedures and be responsible for the production and accurate archiving of diagnostic images under the direction of Chief Radiographer.
      • To ensure the safety of patients and provide high quality patient care.
      • To work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a 24/7 rotating roster with strong and effective communication skills.
      • To work with independent initiative, undertake continuing professional development and maintain competency in all clinical tasks.
      • Deputise the Chief Radiographer in the department operation and planning and ensure client focus service provision.
      • Assist the Chief radiographer to manage work practice change with respect to the new technology and clinical practice, and District/hospital directives and polices.
      • Flexible to work across multiple sites as directed by the chief radiographer.

      Selection Criteria:

      1. Hold a degree in Medical Radiation Science or equivalent qualification.
      2. Hold a NSW EPA Radiation Licence to operate radiation apparatus and registration as a Medical Radiation Practitioner with Australian Health Professionals Registration Authority (AHPRA)
      3. Demonstrate ability to supervise radiographic staff and manage resources allocation to ensure efficient and effective clinical service delivery and compliance with Department policies and procedures.
      4. Demonstrate sound knowledge and understanding of Hospital and Medicare Accreditation.
      5. Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, interaction skills.
      6. Demonstrate effective use of Health Roster and other relevant management systems.
      7. Demonstrate a high level of initiative, analytical and in problem solving skills.
      8. Demonstrate experience in participation, development and implementation of CT scanning protocols and training programs.
