- Receive, process, record, index, research and verify information on all documents filed in the Misdemeanor County Criminal, Civil, and Probate Courts.
- Receive process, record, index, research and verify information on all public and non-public records and documents.
- Receive and file mark all public, non-public records and Court document delivered via mail, email, fax, e-file, e-record, and cover the counter daily.
- Attend Docket calls held in the misdemeanor County Criminal, Civil and Probate Courts as needed.
- Collect filing and recording fees, issue receipts, and make change.
- Issue birth certificates, death certificates, marriage licenses, certified copies, warrants, writs, citations, letters, abstracts, subpoenas, and bill of cost.
- Post public notices on the bulletin board
- Respond to inquiries and provide assistance to the public and other agencies at the front counter and over the telephone, with a positive attitude.
- Perform recoding functions such as copy, file, scan, locate plat, proof, and search.
- Per retention schedule assist with the preparation and destruction of any County Clerk records.
- Must have a good command of all things that are going on in your assigned section and must be able to handle self with courtesy and professionalism.
- Assist in maintaining office machines.
- Keep an up-to-date job manual at desk of legislation changes, filing fees, court costs, and codes.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.

High school diploma or its equivalent, plus at least (1) year of experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skill and abilities.
Depending on area of assignment, may require a valid Texas Driver's License, AOP certification, and /or other specialized licenses or certifications. A Deputy Clerk shall subscribe to the Statement of Appointed Officer before taking the Official Oath of Office. Must read and understand the personnel and office policies. Standard office practices and procedures: principles of customer service.
Operate a computer, read manuals and office memos; write letters and memos; perform basic mathematical calculations; make change; analyze data, communicate effectively, both in person and on the phone, establish and maintain and effective working relationship with co-workers, other county offices and the public.About the company
