      What We Offer

      The City and County of Denver offers a competitive salary commensurate with education and experience. The salary range for this position is $128,556.00- $218,543.00. Our starting salary range is $128,556.00 - $173,551.00/year, based on experience and education. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

      Location

      The City and County of Denver supports a hybrid workplace model. Employees work where needed, at a job site several days a week and off-site as needed. Employees must work within the state of Colorado on their off-site days.

      In this position you can expect to work on site at least three days a week at the Wellington Webb Building at 201 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80202.

      What You’ll Do

      The City and County of Denver utilizes a hybrid model workplace that balances the responsibilities of public service with the benefits of a flexible work environment. Employees work where needed, at a city site and/or in the field several days a week and telecommute at a designated workplace within the State of Colorado the remaining days.

      In this position you can expect to work on site at Wellington Webb Municipal Building, 201 W Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80202.

      At the Department of Housing Stability, we are committed to support Denver residents as healthy, housed and connected. We invest resources, create policy, and partner with various organizations to help keep residents in the homes that they already live in, quickly resolve an experience of homelessness, and connect residents to new housing opportunities. To support these efforts, the department helps to:

      • Stabilize residents at risk of involuntary displacement and connect residents to housing resources such as home repairs, rent and utility assistance, and legal support.
      • Support residents experiencing a crisis and connect them to housing, shelter and other services to get stabilized quickly.
      • Create and preserve existing affordable housing and connect residents at any income level to new housing opportunities through programs such as down-payment assistance or counseling services.
      • Support financial services, contracting and procurement, data analysis and strategic planning, administrative resources, and communications across the housing continuum.

      Specifically, as the Deputy Director of Operations and Impact you will:

      • Oversee the functions and duties of HOST’s Department of Finance
      • Create and provide oversight to the department-wide action plan including management of a team that tracks progress of objectives, data measurements, and related work performed by department staff
      • Lead department-wide initiatives related to data management, impact and analysis; project and performance management; and reporting (including HUD)
      • Lead external marketing and outreach efforts related to community and stakeholder engagement; marketing, communications and outreach; event planning; and fundraising and partnerships
      • Lead efforts to improve employee engagement and process improvement through partnerships with the Office of Human Resources, Technology Services, Peak Academy and others
      • Increase the visibility of the Department of Housing Stability in the community by overseeing the communications and policy work of the department
      • Nimbly navigate internal and external partnerships to problem-solve and expedite solutions

      Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:

      • 5+ of years leading and managing a cross-functional team in a large organization
      • Experience partnering with wide variety of internal and external stakeholders
      • Experience in budget oversight, developing and executing action plans, and managing and reporting on data
      • Experience with public and media relations
      • Strong project management experience
      • Ability to analyze data and use insights for process improvement
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI (preferred but not required), Workday, or other data management systems

      Required Minimum Qualifications

      • Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in a related field based on a specific position(s).
      • Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of management level work experience which must have included managing subordinate supervisors. One (1) year of management experience must include budget and fiscal oversight responsibility, evaluation of business processes, and policy and decision-making experience with planning and organizing multiple programs, projects, operations or functions.
      • Education/Experience Equivalency: Two (2) years of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
