      Job summary

      We are looking for an experienced cardiac physiology leader for the post Deputy Principal Cardiac Physiologist at Barts Health at Whipps Cross Hospital.

      You will support this team to effectively lead the Network cardiac physiology services on the site.

      The Cardiac Physiology team is responsible for delivering a range cardiac physiology services, partnership pathways and advanced clinics. The role will part of cardiorespiratory and network team which provide services throughout Barts Health.

      The post holder will work across multi-specialitiesto lead the service , and will act as a senior clinical leader for members of staff to escalate queries and concerns. They will also responsible to support a team of cardiac physiologists and associate practitioners on the site.

      The post holder will be expected to uphold the Trusts WeCare values to deliver a high standard of patient care at all times.

      There will also be a opportunity to lead quality improvements programme and service developments.

      Main duties of the job

      The Deputy Principal Cardiac Physiologist will work with the Head of Cardiorespiratory Physiology providing site leadership in the Byron Cardiology Unit at Whipps Cross Hospital.

      The post-holder will be expected to function independently as a clinical physiologist in echocardiography or devices or complex non-invasive physiologist skills.

      The post-holder will work with the service leads for cardiac rhythm management, echocardiography, and non-invasive cardiology. The successful candidate will be able to maintain their clinical skills as well which may include one day a week at the Barts Heart Centre if desired.

      This is a fantastic opportunity for the successful candidate to engage in service improvement and re-design, site management, budgetary management, staff management as delegated by the Head of service but also with a high degree of autonomy.
