      About the Role

      The Enterprise, Investment and Trade (EIT) portfolio brings together NSW’s key arts, culture, hospitality, entertainment and visitor experience groups alongside our leading economic development and investment attraction organisations. We propel the delivery of investment, business, lifestyle, entertainment, and cultural opportunities.

      Part of EIT’s senior leadership team, the Deputy Secretary, Investment NSW leads the implementation of the government’s vision for Investment NSW; to drive resilient and sustainable economic growth by facilitating collaborative relationships between business, governments and educational institutions in local and priority international markets.

      The role manages complex interfaces across State, federal and international government agencies, and the private sector (locally and globally). The role works to develop government policy and industry strategies to foster the innovation ecosystem, develop target industries, retain and attract investment, facilitate trade relationships and support NSW’s economy in priority markets.

      This is a highly visible role representing NSW through engagement with key domestic and international stakeholders with offshore presence. This includes promoting NSW globally, supporting NSW companies to export globally, and fostering and enhancing the international education sector.

      About You

      This role requires a high degree of commercial acumen, a deep understanding of both public and private sectors and experience in leading cross-border trade and international relations.

      Experience as a trusted advisor, with the capacity to communicate, influence, negotiate and represent the NSW Government with authority and credibility across diverse stakeholder groups is critical in this role.
