- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of evidence based nursing care to a group of patients.
- Leadership and supervision of others carrying out all aspects of the caring process.
- Deputise and take charge of the given area regularly in the absence of the Sister / Charge Nurse who has 24hour accountability and responsibility.

- Travel to patients homes in order to give SACT (systemic anti-cancer treatment)
- Able to take blood tests and observations in the patient's homes and facilitate review when bloods back in order to keep patients out of hospital
- As this is a fairly new service be able to contribute with ideas to further progress the service
- Work as part of a team to ensure best care and comminication to patients
- Able to work on OTC at times when not required on home visits
- Embrace and be competent and safe with 'single check' of treatments within the role out of the hospital

- Valid NMC registration
- Community nursing experience
- Minimum of 3 years post registration experience

Job summary
We are looking to recruit a band 6 Deputy sister/charge nurse to join the current team OTC @ Home Service. This will provide treatments to patients in their own home as well as working some shifts on the Osborne Treatment Centre (OTC) at the LRI.
The successful candidate will be joining an established team with a record of excellence and innovative practices. The department provides outpatient treatment, triage assessment and follow up care for patients with Haematological and Oncological conditions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated nurse with clinical experience within haematology/oncology nursing. You will be able to demonstrate excellent clinical skills in Haematology/Oncology nursing care and have a passion for this specialty. Knowledge and skills in the safe administration of SACT, care of CVAD'S and other associated supportive treatments is essential.
You will be expected to work as part of a team as well as autonomously. Also on call on a rota basis is required once competence in apheresis is obtained.
