      PURPOSE

      Under close supervision of physician leadership, supports a medical dermatology practice as well as a cosmetic practice. May perform diagnostic testing, maintain supply inventory levels, and clean and maintain medical equipment. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

      • Consults with clients about their needs, evaluates their skin condition and, when necessary, consults with physician about the best approach toward providing care.
      • Administers medication under physician’s direction and within the scope of practice as demonstrated by completion of training and testing.
      • Responsible for reviewing EPIC triage call in basket for any callbacks.
      • Assists providers with procedures by setting up equipment, assisting with patient preparation, and cleaning and storing equipment after exam. Obtains applicable consents and completes all necessary documentation in EPIC EMR.
      • Assists providers with procedures using the CO2 FX Laser.
      • Performs procedures within their scope of practice, such as tattoo removal, chemical peels, Micro needling, IPL, laser hair removal, V-Beam and micro facials.
      • Responsible for reviewing result note in basket and calling /informing patients of normal lab results.
      • Ensures rooms are properly stocked and supplies are current and within expiration dates.
      • Cleans patient rooms as needed, including proper handling of dirty laundry.
      • Ensures laundry cart is stocked with fresh linens on a daily basis
      • Follows directions given by the clinic management team.
      • Acts as a resource to staff and physicians as needed.
      • Responsible for monitoring overall patient flow and delegates action as necessary to Medical Assistants.
      • Ensures all providers have necessary info/tools for their shift
      • Provides procedural support within their scope, to other clinical staff.
      • Assists with on-the-job training for all new and existing Medical Assistants.
      • Participates in and assists with coordination of clinical staff meetings.
      • Communicates staffing needs/issues to the Management team.
      • Communicates frequently with Clinic Management to remain knowledgeable concerning policy/procedure and relays all necessary information to clinical staff.
      • Ensures clinical processes and protocols are followed
      • Follows clinic protocols.
      • Helps implement processes and suggests improvements.
      • Provides patients with educational materials as directed.
      • Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
      • Regular and dependable attendance.
      • Follows the core competencies set forth by the Company, which are available for review on CMSweb.
      • Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.

      OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Rooms patients, takes and documents vital signs and prepares patients for provider exam.
      • Posts patient test results through patient’s mychart portal.
      • Monitors inventory of medical and/or office supplies and equipment, ensuring units and/or rooms are properly stocked and supplies are current and not expired. Orders supplies as needed.
      • Provide support for staffing needs (to include but not limited to: rooming, all in-baskets, ordering, stocking, use of autoclave, etc.)
      • May maintain equipment (autoclaves, sterilizes, washes speculums, checks expiration dates, etc.).
      • Responds to emergencies or overhead pages and/or ensures a provider or nurse responds
      • Performs other duties within the scope of the unlicensed personnel as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Education and Experience

      Required: High school diploma or equivalent. One year or more experience either working as a Medical Assistant or working in a clinical care setting providing direct patient care beyond Activities of Daily Living (ADL).

      Preferred: Graduate from accredited Medical Assistant Program or military Medical Assistant program. One (1) or more years of experience working at ARC/CMS. Experience working in med spa or dermatology office. Experience working with PiQ04, M22, Splender X, and OxyGeneo Lasers.

      Certificate/License: Medical Assistant certification, preferred. Laser Technician Certificate, preferred.
      Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) course completion card.

      Work Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8am to 5pm.
