- Facilitate Studio Operations Meetings and collaborate cross-functionally to create project timing plans, track deliverables, escalate & resolve issues in a timely manner, and keep the creative team on track.
- Implement GM’s Global Vehicle Development Process (GVDP) and manage specific Design milestones and processes to execute programs flawlessly.
- Lead change management process.
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with global and regional Design Program Management colleagues.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships between Innovation, Advanced Vehicle Development, Engineering, Design, and Build Fabrication organizations.
- Act as Single Point of Contact to all functional groups for the programs that are supported within Design.
- Work with all levels of the organization, including co-ordination of leadership reviews with the Design Director, Executive Director of Design, and Senior VP of Design as needed.
- Demonstrate ability to bring Design and Engineering together to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Support everyday studio needs in collaboration with the Creative Design, Sculpting, Studio Engineering, Studio Operations, and Build Fabrication functions.
- Bachelor’s Degree qualifications in design, business, engineering, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience supporting design or engineering functions is preferred.
- Experience or background working with global partners and suppliers.
- Ability to maintain good organization and meet deadlines among many inputs and changing feature content.
- Ability to think outside-the-box in high pressure situations.
- Excellent influencing and negotiation skills.
- A high level of project management skills.
- Detail oriented problem-solver.
- Self-motivated and ability to work with minimal direction.
- Team building / collaboration abilities.
- Managerial Courage.
The salary range for this role is ($100,530 - $160,587). The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.

GM's Creative Design organization is seeking an Assistant Program Manager (APM) to support our California Advanced Design Studio in Pasadena. The role will lead all program management activities, including the development and execution of program plans, and represent Design in cross-functional forums. The successful candidate is highly skilled at project management, a creative problem-solver, and is committed to delivering projects on-time with quality.
