      We are looking for a dynamic Engineer to provide enterprise-wide Product Certification support critical for project execution. This engineer will provide support to Solar’s Project Design Engineering and Business Management groups in Oil & Gas and Power Generation, as well as Package Systems Operations in the execution of sales orders. In collaboration with Product Design Engineers, the Product Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring product safety and compliance to rules and regulations, as well as listed codes and industry standards applicable to Solar’s product offerings and applications. In addition the Product Certification Engineer works with Certification Bodies to obtain necessary certificates ensuring access to national and international markets for our products.

      What you will do:

      • Develop and provide Subject Matter Expertise for Product / Machinery Safety by adopting a risk-based approach to design safety and compliance.
      • Research and develop a working knowledge of applicable codes & standards for both established and emerging markets (US, Canada, EU, Australia, EAEU, China, India, Brazil, etc.).
      • Develop and provide a global perspective on product safety, product compliance and certification requirements to support team members in sales order execution activities.
      • Work with team members and Process Owners to execute standardized work and product testing criteria.
      • Provide subject matter expert support to Package Design Engineering in support of production, manufacturing, and commissioning.
      • Complete job tasks working directly with third-party certification agencies and suppliers on a regular basis.
      • Communicate with Application Engineering, Project Management, Package Engineering, Production and Field Services.
      • Have sound engineering judgement and the ability to meet project execution schedules.
      • Exhibit strong communication skills (verbal and written).

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or closely related engineering field

      • 3 to 4 years of relevant work experience

      • Familiarity with mechanical systems, machinery installations and industrial applications

      Top Candidates will also have:

      • Product Certification experience

      • Project/Program Management, or Application Engineering experience

      • Mechanical, Hydro-mechanical or Electrical Package Design experience

      • Quality Management experience

      Summary Pay Range:

      $87,456.00 - $131,184.00

      Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
