  There are several stages of the recruitment process:
  
  1. You will be asked to provide your CV and some information about your studies and eligibility to work in the UK.
  2. You will be asked to provide a link to your portfolio and submit a written application form telling us about yourself and why you want to spend your placement with IBM as a design intern. Your application will not be considered if you do not have a portfolio.
  3. We review all the applications, and if you are successful, you will be invited to a virtual Exploration Session (assessment centre) on 20th of March. This part of the application journey focuses more on your soft skills, like team working, communication, time management etc.
  4. Following the virtual assessment centre, you may be asked to attend a portfolio review and design interview, with a designer in IBM iX (virtual) where you can talk more about your design experience, methods and examples of your work.
  5. Finally, if you make it all the way to the end, you’ll start with us in Summer 2024!
  
  We have design placement's available focusing on UX Design, Design Research and Visual Design. You don’t need to specify which design specialty you’d like to be considered for, but if you do have a preference, please tell us in your application form. If you don’t have a preference don’t worry, this won’t affect your chances. Please see above

  We are looking for design interns for IBM iX Design.
  
  IBM iX Design interns will experience a variety of projects ranging from UX Design, Design Research, Visual Design.
  
  UX Design focuses on the functionality of the page - show us your approach, how you solve problems and how your solutions evolve.
  
  Visual Design revolves around high-quality visuals with an emphasis on accessibility - show us your graphical skills, UI skills, branding design, concept development and of course, your ‘end results’!
  
  IBM iX are looking for multidisciplinary interns who are enthusiastic and willing to learn, so don’t worry if you are stronger in some areas than others.
  
  These roles will only be based in London. On an IBM University Placement, you will be working in an innovative, creative and exciting working environment. Our placement schemes span across all business units and there are so many opportunities for you to get involved in both inside and outside of your role. We encourage all our early professionals to take the opportunity to participate in networking, mentoring, learning and give back. You will also have two managers. A task manager who works with you on your role and an early professional manager who helps you get the most out of your placement and provides support along the way.
