      ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

      Operation PAR, Inc. is a non-profit organization offering the full continuum of services for individuals with substance use and/or mental health disorders. PAR has been providing comprehensive behavioral health treatment in west Florida since 1970 through advocacy, education, clinical services, and research.

      JOB SUMMARY:

      The APRN practices clinical care delivery under the guidelines of the State Board of Nursing per physician protocol. This role is responsible for the assessment, treatment planning, implementation, and follow-up of referred patients. The APRN delivers care through a person-centered, trauma-focused approach, recognizing and responding to the diverse needs of individuals impacted by substance use and mental health conditions. This includes creating an environment of safety, trust, and empowerment, actively working to reduce re-traumatization and enhance patient resilience and well-being. Addiction experience is preferred, but not required.

      EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

      • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
      • Master’s Degree in Psychiatric, Family or Adult Health Nursing
      • Four (4) years of supervised clinical nursing work preferred
      • Addiction and/or mental health experience preferred

      ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

      • Extensive knowledge of the field of medicine, with experience in substance use disorder and mental health.
      • Provides care that respects each patient’s unique experiences, preferences, and goals, fostering a collaborative treatment environment.
      • Integrates trauma-informed principles in clinical practice by recognizing signs of trauma, understanding its impact on health, and adjusting interventions to support healing and recovery.
      • Coordinates medical admissions, performs physical exams, and offers treatment recommendations for assigned patients.
      • Knowledge of interviewing and communication skills.
      • Knowledge of health-care delivery systems and community resources with referrals to appropriate professionals or agencies.
      • Knowledge of pharmacology, including initiation, selection, and modification of drug regimens.
      • Ability to elicit, record, and maintain comprehensive health history.
      • Commitment to a workplace of dignity and respect.

      SCHEDULE:

      Part-time 24/hours week

      On-call in the evenings

      LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS:

      • Valid and current Florida license as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse required
      • DEA License preferred
      • DATA 2000 Waiver preferred

      SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

      • Must pass a level II background and drug screen
      • Valid driver's license.

      ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/TECHNICAL SKILLS:

      • Ability to write accurately and legibly
      • Moderate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Windows-based computers
      • Ability to accurately type at least 40 words per minute.
      • Ability to sit at a desk and view a display screen for extended periods of time
      • Ability to bend, stoop and reach
      • Ability to sit in meetings for extended periods of time
      • Ability to move throughout program facilities both indoors and outdoors
      • Ability to lift and carry 10 pounds
      • Good hearing and vision

      ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

      • Treatment program/office
      • Fast paced environment
      • Exposure to possible verbal abuse and similar behavior
      • Possible exposure to clients with communicable diseases
