Job Description

- At the assigned Developmental Center (DC), independently assess training needs for those serving the Developmental Disability (DD) population in order to plan new hire orientation, training activities to improve organizational performance & meet regulatory requirements for the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DODD)
- Plan, schedule & conduct training programs by developing materials & conducting training sessions & labs, creating orientee/employee handbook with virtual information for the DC, coordinating training logistics, etc.
- Work with management & staff to identify training needs, areas of improvement & effectiveness of trainings
- Collaborate with other DODD Developmental Center training officers to create consistent, diversified & up to date trainings, training policies, procedures & protocols
- Maintain records & reports on assigned DC training activities & communicate training information which could include tasks like scheduling employees to attend training sessions, creating & implementing tracking of required trainings & expirations of trainings to ensure compliance, compiling & analyzing data to address areas of improvement, etc.
- Develop, implement & oversee assigned DC peer mentoring program to increase employee retention by connecting new employees with a positive peer support &/or more training & evaluating & monitoring success of peer mentoring program
- Assist management with staff retention by helping to create & foster new ideas as well as supporting department heads in developing/facilitating team-building initiatives
What will you do?
6 courses in human resources, education, sociology or psychology OR 18 months experience in preparing informational or instructional programs
AND 18 months training OR 18 months experience in public speaking or effective communications skills
AND 3 months training OR 3 months experience in operating audio visual equipment
