DevOps Engineer - Data Management & Platforms
We are leveraging analytics and technology, as we invent for life on behalf of patients around the world. We are seeking those who have a passion for using data, analytics, and insights to drive decision making, that will allow us to tackle some of the world’s greatest health threats
Within our commercial Insights, Analytics, and Data organization we are transforming to better power decision-making across our end-to-end commercialization process, from business development to late lifecycle management. As we endeavor, we are seeking a dynamic talent for the role of DevOps Engineer
This role will be an integral part of an Agile DevOps team tasked with rapid design, build, test, and release of new technology enabled capabilities that will enable the organization to deliver fast and reliable actionable insights. You will work with IT and developers to monitor, automate, and improve end-to-end product performance and oversee code releases. As part of a DevOps team, you will be responsible for the continuous development and improvement of current and future data products and solutions, providing the organization with consistent and reliable tools to make informed decisions based on high-quality actionable insights across therapeutic areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Work closely with scrum teams and developers to design and implement best practices across projects and products within a structured development process
· Design and configure continuous integration and delivery workflows/pipelines
· Work collaboratively with agile teams to help deliver end-to-end products and features, seeing them through from conception to deliver, and operations
· Commit to continuous learning and relentless improvement of the DevOps processes and tools, while remaining aligned to organization strategy
· Work closely with the QA teams to create the testing capability (people, process, and technology), leveraging automated testing where feasible across the software delivery lifecycle
· Analyze current state of applications and technology and develop steps and processes for improvement
· Working with project managers to monitor project health and progress and solution implementation excellence
· Support development teams with deployment strategy and capacity planning across development, QA, staging and production environments
· Leverage CI/CD tools to automate testing, development and deployment of products and supervise continuous improvement of products and releases
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, etc.
Required Experience and Skills:
· 3 to 15 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or in a similar role. We are looking to hire for multiple seniorities.
· Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
· Experience in the application of the concepts and principles behind DevOps, Continuous Integration/Delivery/Test, Agile, Lean, Configuration Management, Security, Infrastructure as a Service, etc.
· Strong knowledge of JIRA or a similar tool for release management purpose
· Scaled Agile methodology experience, applying agile and/or scrum as a way of working to deliver technology product
· Working with tools such as Confluence, Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Docker, Kubernetes, and container management systems
· Ability to package python code
· Ability to develop IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation templates
· In-depth knowledge of AWS data analytics services like S3, ECS, IAM, Glue, EMR and Sagemaker.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
· Working experience in complex IT environments with cross functional experience including IT Operations, Release Management, Software Engineering, Infrastructure Management, and Dev Ops
· Track record within several large-scale IT programs, taking ownership of the DevOps and release management activities and outputs
