      The Product and Engineering Excellence team in R&D IT is looking for a technically skilled DevOps Tooling Engineer.

      You’ll be joining a team whose job it is to boost engineering productivity and developer experience. We work across a large engineering group so orientate our Products and Services to maximise their outcomes using an iterative Product Management approach.

      You will work to provide whole Software Delivery Life Cycle tooling guidance, reusable artifacts (such as GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, Backstage templates etc.) and provide expertise in implementing DevOps and SRE best practices across whole R&D IT.

      • Tasks:

      • Design, develop and maintain reusable tools for R&D IT with Enterprise standards

      • Create and maintain reusable artifacts like GitHub Actions, GitHub Workflows and repository templates

      • Build User Guides and/or automate adoption for reusable artifacts

      • Contribute to tools and processes that enable adherence to standards in R&D IT

      • Contribute to inner source culture propagation in R&D IT

      • Enable R&D IT teams to adopt DevOps best practices

      • Skills & Experience

      • Knowledge of DevOps, SRE and development best practices

      • Python ( FastAPI experience is a plus)

      • Kubernetes

      • TypeScript

      • Bash and/or PowerShell Core

      • Extensive applied experience in code management and CI/CD tools - especially GitHub (including GitHub Actions)

      • Useful Experience

      • Experience with Backstage – as a user, creator or maintainer

      • Experience enabling diverse engineering teams
