      Job Description:

      The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a dedicated individual for a Foster Care Resource Development (FCRD) position. This position directly impacts our mission of Helping People Living Better Lives through the provision of critical family services involving foster care in the Child Welfare System. FCRD positions are rewarding yet challenging as they work to recruit new foster parents, support current foster parents and seek placement for children in foster care when they are unable to stay in their family home.

      This position:

      • Will focus on locating foster care placements for children and youth in Lincoln and surrounding communities.

      • Is responsible for monitoring request for placement needs and working with the assigned CFS Specialist to locate the best placement for the child(ren). This includes helping to locate relatives and kin as well as close work with all Agency Supported Foster Care providers in Nebraska.

      • Will be required to utilize various software platforms in day-to-day duties including NFOCUS, Salesforce, Lexus Nexis, Microsoft Word and Excel.

      Hiring Rate: $18.626 per hour – non-exempt

      Work Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

      Dress Attire: Business Casual


      Requirements / Qualifications:

      Minimum Qualifications: Post high school coursework/training in social work, sociology, counseling, guidance, psychology, child development or related field and experience in resource development, eligibility determination or contract monitoring within a public service organization. OR Bachelor's degree in any of the fields listed above.

      Preferred Qualifications: Previous Child and Family Services experience in Resource Development; or as either an ongoing or initial assessment worker. Knowledge of NFOCUS, Salesforce, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Experience working with child placing agencies.


      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

      Knowledge of: the principles and practices of social work; federal and State laws; regulations and guidelines concerning service delivery; the principles of individual and group behavior; the techniques of counseling; community service and service organizations.

      Skill in: interviewing to collect and elicit essential information; communicating to receive and relay information; listen to and understand information received; use keyboard.

      Ability to: learn and apply methods and procedures of Human Services Resource Development; learn and apply agency policies, procedures, programs and philosophy; protect confidential information; interact with community leaders; apply problem solving techniques to a variety of different circumstances; assess customer needs to provide proper services and financial assistance; manage multiple files and records; collect and maintain data and analyze for trends; prepare written case histories and reports.
