- Work with clinical and non-clinical staff to improve the patient and staff experience in the service by reducing the waiting times and overbooking of the clinic.
- Communicate complex information to patients regarding diabetes in pregnancy to ensure that they understand the impact on pregnancy

- Be responsible for identifying and explaining the GDm-Health app to eligible women ensuring that use is monitored using the dashboard in the virtual setting.
- Organise follow up visits and triaging the women who are on-boarded onto the GDM-health app

- Evidence of post qualification education activity
- Post Registration qualification relevant to area of specialty or equivalent experience
- Working experience in a clinical environment relevant to high risk pregnancies
- Working experience in antenatal care provision
- Experience of a patient centred approach to the delivery of care
- Previous experience of audit and quality initiatives
- Knowledge of issues surrounding diabetes in pregnancy
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Ability to interpret patient records and extract clinical data
- Methodical approach and attention to detail and excellent administrative and organisational skills
- Experience of data entry and validation

Job summary
This post has been established to support the seamless and effective running of the diabetes in pregnancy service.
The midwife will work with the multidisciplinary diabetes in pregnancy team in both face to face and virtual settings, whilst harnessing technology to support women and their families diagnosed with gestational diabetes.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to utilise the GDm-Health app and on-board eligible women in how to use it. The midwife will follow up the women according to local and national diabetes guidance and support women to engage with appropriate services, make informed choices and prepare for parenthood.
The post holder's clinical responsibility will be in supporting the diabetes antenatal clinic, the virtual diabetic clinic and the GDm-Health app dashboard. He/she will be responsible for the auditing of the service and maintaining and updating the database.
The post holder will be expected to support any research projects associated with diabetes in pregnancy.
The midwife will work in partnership with the lead midwife for the service, supporting women to achieve positive pregnancy outcomes that are personalised, safe and in line with evidence.
