      Summary

      Requires 2 year commitment to Confluence Health

      Collaborates with members of the health care team to provide inpatient or outpatient medical nutrition therapy for all ages.

      Position Reports To: Food Services Director


      Essential Functions

      1. Assess nutrition needs and identifies nutrient requirements specific to disease state and age.
      2. Demonstrates understanding of the stages of change in relation to behavior modification and nutrition.
      3. Continuously evaluates and monitors the effectiveness and outcomes of medical nutrition therapy intervention. Fosters continuity of care across the continuum of care.
      4. Provides nutritional care and education to patients/family in assigned area in a timely fashion according to standard policies and procedures.
      5. Works closely with interdisciplinary team members to provide quality nutrition care to patients.
      6. Teaches Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab classes, community education classes, and staff education. May include cooking classes and multimedia venues.
      7. Complete chart notes per organizational policy.
      8. May include Rehab or Outpatient nutrition.
      9. Participates in LEAN performance improvement and research activities.
      10. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
      11. Other duties as assigned.

      Demonstrate Standards of Behavior and adhere to the Code of Conduct in all aspects of job performance at all times.


      Qualifications

      Required :

      • Master’s degree in Food and Nutrition, or related field (or Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition of related field with Internship completed before 12/31/2023).
      • Registered with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (must be attained within 4 months of hire for new graduates).
      • Washington State Certified Dietitian (CD) - (may apply upon hire)
      • Basic Life Support (CPR) certification and Washington State Food Handlers Permit
      • WA DOH Medical Assistant Registered License (apply after hire)
      • Must be proficient with Windows navigation, Microsoft Office Suite.


      Desired
      :

      • 2 years of acute care and/or outpatient medical nutrition therapy
      • Masters degree
      • Advanced/Board Certification
      • Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or ASPEN registration
      • Software/Platform Skills: Electronic Medical Records experience

      Physical/Sensory Demands
