      Maison Margiela is a Paris-based fashion house founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. Celebrating unconventional aesthetics and embracing the philosophy that fashion is an art of expression rather than a cult of personality, Maison Margiela offers haute couture, ready-to-wear for women and men, contemporary line MM6, footwear, interior design, and accessories, including leather goods, fine jewelry and fragrance.
      John Galliano was named Creative Director of the house in 2014, bringing his sense of spectacle and creative mastery to the unique ethos of Maison Margiela. Whilst developing his own vision for the house, John Galliano has entirely respected the Martin Margiela state of mind, creating a fascinating organic process.
      In 2002, the French house became part of OTB. Along with sister brands of the group, Maison Margiela continues pushing the boundaries of modern fashion while preserving its distinctive identity and heritage.

      Job responsibilities and activities

      Directly reporting to Digital Chef de Projet and alongside another Assistant, the Digital & Social Media Assistant has the following main responsibilities for Maison Margiela and MM6:

      • Assist in implementing global web and social media strategies in terms of brand initiatives & product pushes to achieve social media growth objectives
      • Assist in community management of social media channels
      • Assist in research and ideation for social media shoots and concepts to create brand-appropriate content for the Maison’s Social Media Channels, e-shop, CRM and PR
      • Research for digital and social media projects (e.g. Cultivating, fostering relationships with influencers on behalf of our Brands)
      • Create Social media competition benchmarking & reporting to suggest best practices and share key insights with Digital and Communication’s team
      • Assist in maintain the yearly content production plan: Key Content Creation moments include, but are not limited to fashion shows, films, ongoing campaigns, AVP collections, store openings, product launches, select product categories, events, collaborations
      • Develop and maintain good relationship and dialogue with all internal teams connected to Digital and Social Communications (Production, PR, Omnichannel, CRM, Merch, Wholesale)
      • Monitor industry trends, editorial changes and competitors’ initiatives
      • Assist in creating influencer target lists and approach plan from gifting to building relationships
      • Execution of influencer seeding and dressing (gathering addresses, monitoring send outs)
      • Assist in support CRM, and Omnichannel teams to create customized content

      Skills and experience :

      • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing or Digital Communication major
      • A digital-native, social media-savvy with interest in new modes of communication
      • Inherent understanding and keen interest in online culture, trends, influencers
      • Knowledge of fashion and fashion history a plus, as well as broader visual culture
      • A first professional experience within Digital Communication and Influence preferred
      • Fluent spoken English & French and writing skills are required
