      Job Title

      Digital Asset Manager

      Position Overview

The digital asset manager will collaborate with key members of the business to create the digital asset management strategy and vision, which will ultimately support the company’s wider objectives and goals.

Digital asset managers are responsible for managing Shaw’s digital assets, including audio recordings, videos, and images; and text files, such as blog posts, eBooks, and marketing copy. They use Widen (DAM) systems to acquire , catalogue, manage, and protect these assets. DAM systems store and organize digital assets in a central location, which makes it easier to store, share, and track them.

      Objectives of Role:

      • Improved Efficiency: By centralizing and organizing digital assets, it becomes much easier for users to find and access the files they need — without having to sift through multiple locations or folders.

      • Increased Productivity: With easy access to the right files, users can work more efficiently, reducing the time and effort required to complete tasks. Additionally, by automating repetitive tasks such as resizing, cropping, and organizing, DAM tools can free up time for more important tasks.

      • Better Collaboration: A DAM system allows multiple users to access and work with digital assets simultaneously, making it easier for teams to collaborate on projects.

      • Better Use of Asset: A good digital asset management tool allows users to track and report on the usage of assets, making it easy to see which assets are being used most effectively and which may be underutilized. This can help organizations to optimize their use of digital assets and make better use of their resources.

      • Brand Consistency: A DAM solution makes it easy to ensure that all digital assets are used in a consistent way, which helps to maintain a consistent brand image and messaging across all channels.

      Responsibilities:

      • A Centralized Repository of Asset: Maintain a library with accurately catalogued assets, accompanied by details of the usage rights, current usage, and context.

      • Consistent Branding: Ensure that relevant and up-to-date versions of digital marketing assets are easily searchable and that only authorized personnel can change access permissions.

      • High Productivity: Establish efficient mechanisms for easy search and application of digital assets. Publish up-to-date and clear usage and licensing data.

      • Uniform Content Usage: Achieve uniformity of content usage by applying timestamps, automating content expiration dates, restricting channel assets, and enforcing company-wide compliance with content creation and distribution policies.

      • Informative and Timely Reporting: Analyze and report regularly on metrics that pertain to demographics of access, usage, and lifecycle of digital assets, including statistics on audience engagement.

      • Compliance with Licenses and Copyrights: Ensure that correct licensing and copyright information accompanies the content. Automate the deletion of published content upon license expiration .

      • Accurate, Descriptive, and Consistent Nomenclature: Ensure that the file names for digital assets are descriptive, accurate , consistent, and reflective of how the assets relate to the other files in the system.

      • Tagging of Metadata: Tag digital assets with the relevant details— such as the creation date, file name, file type, and file category—in the form of metadata for enhanced organization and ease of search and use. Verify that the IPTC metadata is saved in the file.

      Requirements:

      • 3+ years of experience managing content management or digital asset management system for a large client or company

      • 3+ years in project management, technology-related implementations, and/or strategic planning roles
