      Working closely with the Social Media & Digital Content Coordinator, the Digital Content Assistant will contribute to building and maintaining the Brock University’s social media presence through content planning and content creation for the student audience. The Digital Content Assistant will research, present and implement new methods of engaging students online and will be involved in creating content that fosters a positive school spirit, promotes a culture of inclusivity and accessibility, and supports domestic and international recruitment goals. The successful candidate may also work with University Marketing and Communications on a variety of special projects throughout the year.

      Job Responsibilities

      • Social Media (70%) The successful candidate will propose and create engaging content for the Brock University social media channels. This may include creating and distributing digital content, identifying opportunities for engaging with the student audience online, and planning the implementation of digital content / programming, across the Brock University social media channels.
      • Video Editing (25%) Part of this role will involve creating dynamic social media content and creating short videos. This may include script writing, storyboarding, production, and digital video editing using platforms like Adobe Premiere Pro.
      • Other (5%) Perform other duties as required.

      Required Skills

      • Experience with various social media channels including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok.
      • Experience and familiarity with Brock University campus life and knowledge of Brock University student services and activities.
      • Experience with shooting and editing video content for social media.
      • Effective written and oral communication skills.
      • Ability to follow brand & accessibility guidelines as required and where appropriate.
