Job Description
- Req#: 1572
- Manage and create digital content for JSO’s social media platforms, website, and other communication channels
- Provide timely and accurate public safety information
- Collaborate with strategic communications executive, manager, multimedia specialists and media relations team to effectively communicate with the community
- Maintain and update JSO’s news web page
- Develop social media and marketing strategies to expand outreach and promote the agency’s mission
- Analyze website and social media analytics to track performance and engagement
- Ensure all digital content adheres to public records laws, agency policies, and branding guidelines
- Assist in designing graphics and editing photo/video content for digital dissemination
- Produce and edit video segments for social media, JSO website, and other platforms
- Coordinate with partner agencies on key projects
- Serve as a key contributor in producing and sharing the Sheriff’s podcast
- Strong background in social media and digital content creation
- Proficiency in photo and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva etc.)
- Proficiency in graphic design using Canva
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both AP Style and conversationally
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness to work after hours on special projects
- Ability to collaborate with a team of multimedia specialists
- Capable of working in fast-paced, evolving situations to disseminate information quickly and accurately
- Understanding of digital platform analytics and data collection
- Familiarity with law enforcement policies and procedures
