College sophomore, junior or senior, ideally with a concentration in Computer Science, Informatics, Cybersecurity, or other related fields
Experience in pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field 0-1 year required
Update and Create runbooks for various information security activities
Provide support for risk remediation activities
Conduct preliminary research for new vulnerabilities
Research automated ways to remediate risk assessment findings with processes to fill out SOPs
Business process refinement and re-engineering
Data rationalization, normalization and reporting
Handle general ticketing activities utilizing ServiceNow
Coordinate remediation efforts from penetration test results.
Support Information Security Officers or others for special projects as needed and available
Other duties as assigned
Strong written, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Ability to interact with people from all organizational levels
Self-directed and capable of independent work with strong application of critical thinking
Ability to be flexible, versatile, and adaptable in day-to-day activities conducted in a multi-site environment
Detail oriented
Willingness to work in the hospital
Strong computer skills in a Microsoft environment
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of data visualization a plus
Knowledge of database management a plus
Good project management skills and technical/information security background
Strong technical writing and documentation skills

Must be able to work up to 40 hours/week
M-F Hybrid role includes onsite at MGB local sites and Assembly Row.
Remote Working days require stable, quiet, secure working area that is HIPAA compliant
Onsite events are planned ahead, working days onsite weekly vary for department needs, must be flexible.

Reporting to the Security Governance Manager, under the Vulnerability Management team, the MGBD Summer Intern will assist in a variety of departmental responsibilities. Responsibilities include providing reviewing existing cloud resource security configurations to ensure they are in compliance with MGB policies and standards, research and create incident response playbooks (manual and automated) scoped for cloud services, providing support for remediation activities, and assist with research information security office IRB reviews. The intern will have the opportunity to review, provide feedback and edit information security policies, develop and support training and observe governance practices. In addition, based on the Summer Intern’s interests and aptitudes, this candidate will have the opportunity to engage in special projects as time and availability allow.
