      Position Type: Full-Time at 40 hrs/wk

      Pay Range: $70,000 - $75,900/yr

      About this opportunity:

      This position is responsible for planning, directing, monitoring and evaluating all marketing functions for the Area Command to ensure that The Salvation Army maintains a favorable and positive image online and in the community; Working with the Director of Development, creating a marketing strategy for the Florida Division, ensuring that the Army’s message is effectively delivered to its audiences and that programs and services are designed to meet clients and stakeholder needs; taking photographs and writing articles covering Salvation Army event; developing social media marketing strategies as well as training for the division using digital resources, electronic newsletters, funding capabilities, etc.; overseeing, maintaining, and managing the Divisional social networking policy; tracking social networking sites to ensure The Salvation Army assets are protected. Maintaining all divisional websites, providing technical support, training and collateral in accordance to current marketing efforts.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Plans and implements marketing programs for The Salvation Army Miami Metropolitan Area Command.
      • Creates, updates, and enforces digital style guides and branding efforts. Manages online brand and campaigns to raise brand awareness on our website, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
      • Defines, tracks, analyzes, and reports on metrics and analytics to understand reach.
      • Creates, edits, updates, connects, and shares video, images, text, and graphics through web and social media.
      • Develops and manages online marketing projects, including email campaigns, content creation, social media, SEO and SEM in collaboration with vendors.
      • Manages all digital media for Corps including, but not limited to the website(s), ticketing, registration, special events and social media.
      • Contacts the media to create awareness of special interests or events of The Salvation Army; serves as a Salvation Army representative or spokesperson as directed; represents The Salvation Army in a professional and positive manner.
      • Follows marketing trends throughout the Division and adjusts Divisional marketing plan to provide the most efficient and effective practices; advises management of public opinion and policy trends to include interpretation of same; researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities.
      • Assists with the creation, preparation and/or upgrading of digital and promotional materials to include annual reports, videos, slideshows. brochures, monthly newsletters, and programs; reviews current publicity tracking methods and improves as necessary.
      • Assists the Director of Development in the creation of a budget for marketing efforts. Works cooperatively with members of a strategy team to create long-term goals and plans for their programs and services.
      • Works with representatives at field locations to develop marketing plans and campaigns using social media; provides training to same in web content maintenance in compliance with the current divisional web content system and related policies.
      • Meets with the Development team on a weekly and/or as-needed basis to update team on marketing efforts.
      • Receives and responds to telephone calls and social media messages related to services and marketing matters as well as client needs; responds to or delegates response to all marketing correspondence including thank you letters and phone calls, etc.
      • Guides preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management monthly.
      • Selects and screens targeted resources for information about new potential donors and strategic partnerships
      • Serves as a liaison to the news media and public, setting forth a clear image of The Salvation Army programs, services, and special events. Maintains contact with all local news media (including print, radio and television). Work on identifying pro-bono media opportunities to share news of the Salvation Army programs.
      • Maintains strict and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Territorial and Divisional Social Network Policy(ies); informs Human Resources and others with need to know of any changes to same.
      • Oversees social networking sites to ensure The Salvation Army assets are protected; alerts proper Salvation Army authorities regarding suspected harmful posts/tweets.

      What we are looking for in you:

      • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, or a related field, AND

      • Five years progressively responsible experience coordinating marketing, public relations, and media relations, OR

      • Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

      Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

      Ability to travel to various locations in order to participate in public meetings, conferences, etc.

      Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
