      Description

      DIGITAL MEDIA SPECIALIST

      Bridgewater College seeks a Digital Media Specialist in the Office of Marketing & Communications (OMC). Join our team during an exciting time as we build on our tuition transparency initiatives and expand our digital advertising campaigns, social media strategy, and web presence. The position is full-time and is available immediately.

      Reporting to the Integrated Marketing Director, the Digital Media Specialist is responsible for updating, maintaining, and creating compelling digital content for the College’s WordPress-based main website (bridgewater.edu) and intranet (MyBC). The specialist leads the office’s social media team and collaborates with OMC staff to create, schedule, and monitor engaging content across social platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube).

      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

      Brand & Social

      • Represent the BC brand through copy editing and content creation for a variety of channels including social media, digital, print, and web
      • Oversee planning, creating, and scheduling content to the College’s social media channels using Loomly while leading the College’s social media team
      • Maintain strong brand identity across all communication and marketing materials

      Webpages/Websites

      • Edit webpages using a content management system; proofread and edit page content to ensure compliance with accessibility and user experience standards
      • Monitor website support tickets from various departments to provide updates to web content
      • Address website accessibility issues for disabled persons and maintain knowledge of current standards to monitor compliance
      • Create, edit, and manage content such as photography, video, charts, tables, and text to ensure it remains relevant, current, and in a consistent style across the website properties

      QUALIFICATIONS:

      Education & Experience

      • Bachelor’s degree preferred in communication, marketing, digital media strategy, or related field
      • At least two (2) years of copywriting, social media, and website experience preferred
      • Experience with Wordpress required

      Technical Skills

      • Experience with photography, videography, and social media publishing tools (e.g. Loomly)
      • Familiarity with web accessibility standards and content management best practices

      Interpersonal & Organizational Skills

      • Able to work effectively and collaboratively with faculty and staff
      • Able to prioritize, problem solve, and meet deadlines on multiple projects
      • Excellent interpersonal skills
      • Strong organizational and time management skills, exceptional work ethic and high level of initiative, attention to detail, energy and creativity
      • Sense of humor and collegiality

      Pay is offered at a competitive, hourly rate. This full-time position offers a full benefits package, including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents.
