      The Training Department is seeking a full-time Digital Navigator that will provide computer-related training to the staff and customers of St. Louis County Library District to enhance the information literacy of the Library and the community.

      The mission of the St. Louis County Library is to provide the resources and services to enrich individual minds, enhance lives and expand perspectives. SLCL is an award winning library system with branches throughout St. Louis County. We have transformed into a meaningful community resource with updated facilities and an array of programs and partnerships that serve over 860,000 patrons.

      Salary: $48,041.00

      Hours:

      Monday-Friday, one evening per week

      One Saturday and Sunday per month

      Essential Responsibilities:

      1. Prepares materials and equipment in support of scheduled classes and as training aids for customers and staff.
      2. Schedules and presents computer training programs for Library customers and staff in response to staff and community needs and interests.
      3. Assists customers who use SLCL public computers by answering questions, helping to find information on the Internet, and explaining how to use the software provided by the Library.
      4. Works with the Manager, Training and other Trainers in the development and implementation of new training programs for SLCL staff and customers to ensure the effective use of all electronic services.
      5. Compiles statistics and other data regarding the labs and their use for planning purposes and to illustrate lab effectiveness.

      Job Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree
      • Knowledge of and experience with Windows operating systems and Windows-based programs
      • Must possess a commitment to a high level of public service to Library customers and staff
      • Must possess excellent communication and organization skills and the ability to instruct others
      • Must possess good judgment, analytical, and problem solving skills
      • Valid driver’s license

      Physical and Mental Requirements:

      • Ability to work well independently and without direct supervision
      • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
      • Ability to bend beneath desks and tables to connect cables and wires
      • Ability to stand for up to eight hours per shift
      • Ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
      • Ability to operate various types of Library equipment
      • Ability to use a pc, word processing, and e-mail
