      Overview

      The Digital Print Operator is responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of all print and binding equipment within the NCH Print Shop. The incumbent will interact with customers and staff to produce quality print products, provide exceptional customer service, and troubleshoot issues via service calls or routine preventative maintenance.

      Full-time: Monday-Friday (6:00am-2:30pm)

      Responsibilities

      • Operation of digital printer models and relevant software.
      • Operation of basic finishing equipment. Cutter, 3-hole drill, GBC, spiral bind equipment, laminator, and paper folder.
      • Record daily volume of equipment.
      • Manage service calls for all Print Shop equipment.
      • Perform Quality Control Procedures.
      • Provide daily preventative maintenance of equipment.
      • Interact with customers to provide best production options and on-time delivery.
      • Manage paper inventory and consumables.
      • Provide finishing such as laminating, folding, padding and in-line/off-line binding.
      • Track monthly data for month end management reports.
      • Maintain daily job ticket entry and turn-around time stats.
      • Perform quality assurance.
      • Serves as backup to other department support staff.
      • Work with print production software and be the point person for related inquiries.
      • Partner with Graphics team and perform some basic graphics setup.
      • Maintain, set up, and operate wide-format devices, orders, and related equipment.
      • Work with color calibrations resolve color space issues on print products.
      • Prioritize daily work by balancing deadlines with complexity of print job requests and vendor considerations.
      • Understand complexity of print requests and estimate the time and materials needed to complete the work.
      • Backup other Operators and Graphic Designers when needed.
      • Perform intake procedures.
      • Serve as a customer liaison with regards to production issues.

      Qualifications

      KNOWLEDGE , SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

      1. High school graduate; technical college coursework / certificate preferred.

      2. A minimum of two years’ experience required.

      3. Word Processing, database management, spreadsheet, and other related computer skills necessary. Ability to learn and utilize computer software to perform requested work assignments and projects.

      4. Experience in a health care setting desirable.

      5. Must possess good skills in organization, planning, documentation, and time management.

      6. Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
