      Job summary

      Each Project Manager will be accountable to the Programme Manager.

      Supporting the operational Clinical Business Units (CBU) and corporate departments within the Trust in the identification and prioritisation of potential Digital Services projects, in the review of business processes, and in the implementation of change.

      Supporting the operational divisions and corporate departments within the Trust in the procurement and evaluation processes associated with introducing new ePR/IT systems and business processes.

      Managing the implementation of ePR/IT projects from initiation to completion.

      Ensuring that once implemented new ePR/IT systems are professionally transferred to operational services

      Actively manage benefit identification and ensure as far as possible benefits are realised at the appropriate point.

      Identify and deliver all change deliverables and resources required across the Projects.

      Support the delivery and development of improved processes and systems across the organisation using recognised improvement tools, techniques and methodologies.

      Provide facilitative resource to the organisation to promote and support service redesign and quality improvements that are required.

      Main duties of the job

      To undertake the task of process mapping within clinical and operational departments to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in current business practices, and to recommend changes designed to achieve service improvements and/or efficiencies

      To support the Divisions and Corporate Departments in the implementation of changes to operational practice, and the realisation of benefits from IT projects

      To liaise with clinicians, managers, and system suppliers to develop functional specifications, business cases, and option appraisals relating to new clinical and administrative systems, new application modules, or changes to existing systems. This will involve working closely with clinical and non-clinical staff to establish a common understanding of complex service needs, data flows, and information requirements.

      To ensure that all documentation produced by the business planning and project feasibility processes is of sufficient detail and quality to support effective decision-making

      • Recent demonstrable experience in the successful delivery of service improvement and IT projects using recognised methodologies
      • Experience of translating business requirements into information/system requirements, and producing other documentation associated with the implementation of IT systems. E.g. Business Cases
      • Experience preparing and presenting process maps, both orally, diagrammatically and in writing
      • Training / mentorship - transferring personal skills and knowledge to others

      Desirable

      • Recent NHS experience working in Informatics
      • Experience of supporting clinical and non-clinical colleagues in radical change processes.

      • Educated to degree level in computing/information systems or equivalent experience
      • PRINCE2 Foundation and practitioner

      • Strong organisational and planning skills: able to develop strategic plans and organise complex change programmes, steering and supporting groups, teams and colleagues into new ways of working. Able to deliver agreed objectives within an agreed timeframe
      • Proven problem solving and analytical skills relating to the identification and assessment of evidence required to support decision-making
