      Our Digital Technology (DT) organization ensures that Raytheon teammates across the globe are able to communicate, collaborate and innovate for customer success. We create leading-edge technology solutions to prevent security threats, protect the integrity of our systems and support RMD’s IT infrastructures around the world.

      System Administrators Apprentices collaborate with a diverse team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified information systems. Upon completion of this program, you will have the ability to maintain a secure, cost-efficient Information Technology environment across various classified programs.


      Responsibilities to Anticipate:

      • Pursue a degree Computer Information Systems at Pima community College while working a minimum of 20 hours per week
      • Must work on site at a Raytheon facility in Tucson, Arizona
      • Learning to manage IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Redhat Enterprise Linux environment.
      • Understanding and gaining knowledge of Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods.
      • Manage Information Systems by using the command line
      • Learning to work as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment.
      • Learning troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of a moderate to high scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS).
      • Gaining an understanding of data RAID, data backup uses and technologies. Install and configure software applications requested by end users.
      • Learning to team with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements.
      • Develop documentation and training material on and refine advanced IT processes and procedures and other tasks as assigned.
      • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification)
      • Less than 10% some travel
      • 100% on site position
      • Must be Arizona resident

      Qualifications You Must Have:

      • High School diploma or equivalent
      • Ability to attain active US DoD secret clearance. US citizenship is required as only US citizens are eligible for a security clearance


      Qualifications We Value:

      • An active DoD clearance
      • Working experience in Windows Server 2008, 2012, or 2016
      • Knowledge of NAS or SAN technologies
      • Knowledge of VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESX virtual computing methods (i.e. Nutanix, Hyper V, etc…)
      • Knowledge of Microsoft WSUS, SCCM, Exchange, and Lync
      • Experience and or education of Backup Exec, NetApp Snap Protect, data backup technologies, systems principles, and safeguards
      • Basic Windows scripting
      • Experience with Windows and or Linux Server Operating Systems (OS)
      • Experience DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Backup and Recovery enterprise suites

      The salary range for this role is 34,000 USD - 63,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

      Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

      This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
