      Digital UX Content Writer , Digital Innovation

      What You’ll Be Doing

      CIBC’s Digital Innovation team is looking for a Digital UX Content Writer who will help with the development of streamlined, engaging content that adheres to CIBC’s unique Tone of Voice and brand guidelines, which will help our clients make their ambition a reality. As part of a broader Digital Strategy & Innovation team within Digital S trategy, A dvice and O pen B anking , you’ll have the opportunity to support the development and execution of CIBC’s Digital roadmap. Reporting to the Senior UX & Design Strategy Lead of Digital Innovation, y ou will be a part of the creation of digital experiences and user-centric solutions for some of CIBC’s toughest business problems from the very start.

      Note: A digital writing portfolio or writing samples are required to apply for this position. We want to see examples with a UX focus, including problems you helped solve with content solutions/strategy, your specific contributions, and impact to users/results of your solution.

      How you’ll succeed:

      • Content Writing - Writing content for our sprint teams including app and online interface copy , navigational terminology, microcopy, emails, and promo video scripts (for prototype demo video walkthroughs) . This work includes user journey s , wireframing (alongside design), content strategy, ensuring content consistency (both quality of content and repeated phrases across CIBC content ) and m ore .

      • Content Strategy - Developing strategies, standards, guidelines , and processes for the optimization and m aintenance of content . Content strategy will always be developed by balanc ing user and business needs .

      • User Research (UXR) Implementation and Iteration Using research to shape user experiences with meaningful con t ent . This work includes rounds of drafting, being involved in UXR studies through observation and feedback, communicating updates to the working team , and accepting and implementing feedback throughout the entire sprint. All content outputs from this team are informed by UXR and analytics. A successful candidate will be able to manage these inputs and co llaborate with these teams to ensure the best content possible.

      • Collaborating You will be working in a cross-functional team of UX designers, UX researchers, strategists, developers, and product owners to create the best possible digital experience for our users . This includes pitching research plans, consulting with digital strategy , and more.

      • Communicating You must provide rationale for your copy decisions to the working team , and be able to pivot on your strategy based on feedback (both from UXR and working team) . A successful candidate will be comfortable with regularly presenting work to senior leadership and internal stakeholders

      Who You Are

      • You have a degree/diploma in English, Journalism, or Communications (or related field of study)

      • You want to be an owner. Leadership, going above and beyond, and delivering results are right up your alley. You’re ready to champion the content team and give words the hype they deserve . To do this, you’re not afraid to build trust through respect and authenticity, find meaning in new relationships , and surround ing yourself with a diverse network of partners . You use this network to gain the information you need to support your craft and your projects.

      • Y ou have expertise in writing ux copy that’s clear , concise, and focuses on the user by utilizing a data-informed approach . You have worked with extensive and detailed brand guidelines, content decks, tone of voice guides, and content strategy plans. This also includes a strong understanding of grammar, style, tone of voice, tonal modulation, syntax , and best practices for content in the digital space.

      • You have excellent time management and organizational skills that allow you to complete content on tight deadlines with minimal oversight . Content submitted to the Sr UX Content Writer & Strategist should always be in a f ina l content state. A successful candidate is fle xible in their work approach and can visit and revisit a project at different stage s or whenever work is require d , as directed by the Sr UX Content Write r and working team.

      • You’re eager to learn and grow. You’ll have the opportunity to learn from our Sr UX Content Writer and Strategist , Digital Strategists, and Product Designers to develop as a content writer . You understand that feedback is an integral part of the content writing process and you’re willing to both give and receive feedback.
