      Overview

      Dining Room Manager-- Full Time

      RiverWoods in Exeter is currently hiring for a Full Time Dining Room Manager. The successful candidate will help us continue to propel our dining services department forward in providing world class dining services through consistent execution of fine dining service basic practices. They will be present, provide feedback and training, set priorities, be consistent, delegate tasks and have a clear vision for the independent living and health care dining teams.

      Responsibilities

      Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Operations, some other key components of the position consist of but are not limited to:

      • Guide, direct and support wait service team members to provide professional, courteous and efficient dining service to residents, guests and visitors.
      • Manage resident meal reservation requests
      • Coordinate the planning, setup and delivery of dining service for prospective residents in conjunction with the RiverWoods marketing team and their requirements.
      • Assist with seating and service to all customers to ensure a pleasant, comfortable and timely experience.
      • Plan and conduct effective daily pre-meal meetings with the Kitchen Operations Manager or Sous Chef and all production and service team members.
      • Prepare and conduct all team member performance reviews
      • Prepare team member work schedules
      • Plan, coordinate, setup, execute and account for all dining service events for residents, resident guests, memorial services, marketing, human resources and administration all catered event meals (resident, human resources, marketing and administration) in conjunction with the Kitchen Operations Manager.
      • Manage the input of all meal transactions into the Point of Sale (POS) system to ensure resident meal accounting information is accurate and timely for proper billing to occur.
      • Ensure dining and service areas are consistently clean, neat, sanitary and properly appointed at all times.
      • Assumes management responsibilities for the community’s dining services in the absence of the Kitchen Operations Manager.
      • Ensure the professional standards for appearance of all Dining Room personnel at all times (uniform, personal hygiene and appearance).
      • Schedule and conduct deep cleaning and sanitation in the dining room(s) in accordance with RiverWoods’ policies, and state and federal guidelines.
      • Work in collaboration with the Dietary Supervisor to fulfill scheduling needs and support dining service to our residents living in the Lodge (Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing).
      • Interview, hire, orient and train all waited service team members
      • Teach and develop the skills and competency of team members by planning, delivering, documenting and measuring a comprehensive continuous on-the-job training process and program.
      • Oversee, implement and consistently and fairly maintain the established team member recognition and reward process and program.
      • Maintain and manage a sufficient inventory of china, glassware, silverware, and catering related small wares and equipment to ensure a complete, consistent, attractive service appearance and within the approved operating budget.
      • Be present, visible and engaged in the dining rooms (IL, AL, and Skilled Nursing) during meal times, greet and visit with residents and their guests through table visits, and solicit their input, suggestions and requests.
      • Provide engaged, enthusiastic resident centered customer service with a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork.

      Qualifications

      • High School diploma or equivalent
      • Formal Management supervisor or management training
      • Minimum of two years of waited service experience in fine dining restaurants or continuing care communities preferred
      • Experience working in a Health Care setting preferred
      • Two years of supervisory or management experience
      • Serve Safe Certification preferred
