      Director - Nursing Home

      Full Time, 80 Hours Per Pay Period, Day Shift

      Position Summary

      Responsible for operations and financial management of all components of the Nursing Home with 60+ beds to include nursing, rehabilitation services, case management/social services, recreational/activities and environmental. Reports to the President/Chief Administrative Officer.

      Responsibilities

      • Coordinates the day-to-day operations of the Nursing Home and assure they are conducted toward the achievement of the organizational goals and objectives.
      • Continuous monitoring, evaluation, and implementation of guidelines and regulations of Long Term Care and facilitate the implementation of changes needed to meet these requirements.
      • Develop, implement, and revise policy and procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal and the Joint Commission regulations.
      • Collaborate with managers and other hospital staff to prepare and ensure readiness for state/federal and the Joint Commission surveys.
      • Collaborate with Medical Director in planning Quality Assurance committee meetings along with developing, revising and overseeing the implementation of the Quality Assurance Program.
      • Develop systems or processes that assure data is readily available regarding outcomes, costs, customer satisfaction, and other key indicators to allow teams to set goals, monitor and make changes in performance.
      • Responsible for the preparation of Nursing Home departmental operation and capital budgets.
      • Work with managers and staff to strategize departmental clinical and financial performance objectives and to improve processes and upgrade performance plans.
      • Develop financial targets and help educate supervisors and staff in implementing changes to achieve those targets.
      • Interact with other departments and intra-system functions to devise and implement corporate applications of various policies, procedures, and information systems.
      • Evaluate staffing patterns to ensure staff/patient ratio meets the patient needs, regulatory requirements and productivity standards.
      • Oversee recruitment and hiring of qualified staff. Ensure the completion of all staff competency evaluations and performance evaluations.
      • Responsible for orientation and staff education in nursing, rehabilitation services, case management/social services, recreational/activities and environmental services.
      • Work with Risk Management to ensure root cause analysis has been completed on any reportable unusual occurrence.
      • Work with Case Managers and community healthcare resources to ensure a smooth transfer during the continuum of care process.
      • Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all residents. Establishing an environment where each resident is capable of achieving their highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.
      • Responsible for maintaining a safe environment for all residents which may include reporting equipment that is out of order, suspicion of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect and reporting of suspicion of criminal activities.
      • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
      • Assists in maintaining a safe environment for all residents which may include reporting to appropriate managerial staff equipment that is out of order, suspicion of resident abuse, mistreatment, neglect and reporting of suspicion of criminal activities.
      • Performs other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications

      Minimum Education:

      Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in health care administration, business, management or related field or equivalent combination of educational/managerial experience in related field.

      Minimum Experience:

      Three (3) years managerial experience in LTC, skilled care preferred.

      Licensure Requirement:

      Must have and maintain Tennessee RN licensure. Tennessee Licensed Nursing Home Administrator or participation in the Tennessee Administrator-in-Training Program preferred.
