- Req#: 544541
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Clean, valid New York State driver’s license.
- Ability to communicate and understand in English; both verbally and in writing.
- Some experience working with the intellectually and developmentally disabled population preferred; but will train. Cooking and light housekeeping may be required.
- Must obtain and maintain AMAP and SCIP certifications
- The ability to perform SCIP maneuvers which may require bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, lying on the ground, and supporting another person’s body weight.
- The ability to reach, bend, twist, kneel, and squat as you assist people with physical activities.
- The ability to assist with lifting and transferring a person. The ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
- Prior experience as Caregiver, Care Assistant, Personal Assistant, Resident Assistant, Direct Care Worker, Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide or Companion is a plus

In this position, you will:
· Help people supported achieve/exceed their personal goals
· Provide structure and emotional support
· Assist in resolving behavioral issues
· Help people supported with personal hygiene needs
· Complete detailed, accurate documentation
· Transport program participants to and from medical appointments and recreation activities using Agency vehicles
